Creamy cottage cheese and sour cream custard coat tender egg noodles, finished with a cinnamon-sugar topping for a delightful sweet crunch.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (12 ounce) package wide egg noodles
  • 6 eggs, beaten
  • 1 (16 ounce) package small curd cottage cheese
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 6 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 (4 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Prepare a 9x13-inch baking dish by greasing it.
  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook egg noodles until al dente, about 5 minutes. Drain.
  • In a large bowl, combine eggs, cottage cheese, milk, sour cream, 1 cup white sugar, butter, cream cheese, vanilla extract, and salt. Beat until smooth and well blended.
  • Mix the egg noodles with the cottage cheese mixture until well combined, then transfer everything into the prepared baking dish.
  • Mix together 1/3 cup white sugar, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a small bowl, then generously sprinkle it over the noodle kugel.
  • Bake in the oven until the sauce is bubbling and the noodles are golden, approximately 1 hour. Cool the kugel on a wire rack for 10 minutes before serving.
