Create homemade cinnamon palmier cookies using puff pastry for a crispy, flaky treat that rivals bakery quality.
Ingredients:
  • 0.33333334326744 cup white sugar
  • 0.75 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.125 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 0.25 cup white sugar
  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
Instructions:
  • Collect all the ingredients.
  • Combine 1/3 cup sugar, cinnamon, and cardamom in a small bowl.
  • Spread the remaining 1/4 cup of sugar evenly on a work surface. Unfold the puff pastry onto the sugar and roll it out into a 10x15-inch rectangle. Brush the pastry with melted butter and sprinkle the sugar mixture on top.
  • Roll the pastry tightly around the filling, stopping in the middle of the rectangle.
  • Roll the opposite edge to the center to meet the first roll. Moisten your finger with water and dot along the long edges where the two rolls meet, gently press to seal. Refrigerate until slightly firm, for 5 to 10 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C, gas mark 5) while you line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Slice the chilled pastry into 1/4-inch slices and arrange them 1 inch apart on the baking sheet.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 12 minutes until golden and crisp. Allow to cool briefly on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
