Festive Christmas tree biscuits spiced up with decorations - perfect for kids to help with.
Ingredients:
  • 125g butter, softened
  • 90.00 gm brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 53.20 gm treacle or golden syrup
  • 437.50 ml plain flour, sifted
  • 75.00 gm self-raising flour, sifted
  • 7.50 gm Ground Cinnamon
  • 1.25 gm bicarbonate of soda
Instructions:
  • Cream the butter and sugar together using an electric mixer until pale. Mix in 1 egg and treacle, beating well. Add flours, 2 teaspoons of cinnamon, and soda; mix until well combined. Knead the dough on a floured surface. Divide the dough in half and press each half into a 10cm disc. Wrap in baking paper and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to a toasty 180ºC. Get those baking trays ready with a layer of baking paper. Mix together the sugar and the rest of the aromatic cinnamon.
  • Roll out the dough to a 5mm thickness, then cut out biscuits. Place them on trays, brush with egg white, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar, and bake for 10 to 12 minutes until golden. Let them cool on trays for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack and serve.
