Homemade cinnamon sugar cookies inspired by Mrs. Fields' favorite recipe.
Ingredients:
  • 3 tablespoons white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.75 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) for the perfect baking temperature.
  • Mix together the white sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl, then set aside.
  • Combine brown sugar and 1/2 cup white sugar in a large bowl, use a mixer on medium speed until blended. Mix in butter until mixture is grainy. Add eggs and vanilla, beat until light and fluffy.
  • In a separate bowl, gently combine flour, baking soda, and salt with a whisk. Add this mixture to the butter-sugar mixture and mix on low speed just until combined. Avoid overmixing to prevent tough cookies.
  • Shape dough into 1-inch balls, coat each ball in cinnamon sugar, and place on ungreased cookie sheets.
  • Place in the oven that's been preheated and bake for 18 to 20 minutes. Then, take them out of the sheets and allow them to cool on racks.
