Cinnamon-Spiced Sweet Potato Fries

Sweet potato fries tossed in cinnamon-nutmeg-vanilla sugar, fried, and topped with buttery cinnamon sugar drizzle.
Ingredients:
  • 1 large sweet potato, peeled and cut into thick sticks
  • 1.25 cups white sugar
  • 3 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons ground nutmeg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups vegetable oil for deep frying
  • 4 teaspoons butter
Instructions:
  • In a gallon size resealable plastic bag, combine 3/4 cup sugar, 2 teaspoons cinnamon, 1 teaspoon nutmeg, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Seal the bag and shake well to mix the sugar and spices. Add sweet potato sticks, seal the bag, and shake to coat evenly with the sugar mixture.
  • Heat canola oil in a deep fryer to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C. Fry the sweet potatoes until golden, approximately 10 minutes. Drain on paper towels and transfer to a serving plate.
  • Combine 1/2 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 1 teaspoon nutmeg, and butter in a pan. Heat over medium heat until butter is melted, then pour over the sweet potatoes.
