Enhance your clam pizza with a unique twist of sweet pineapple in a rustic homemade red sauce.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
  • 0.33333334326744 cup chopped onion
  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
  • 1 (15 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 0.5 teaspoon oregano, or to taste
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 (12 inch) premade thin pizza crust
  • 0.5 cup grated Parmesan cheese, divided, or to taste
  • 0.5 cup shredded Italian cheese blend, or more to taste, divided
  • 1 (6.5 ounce) can chopped clams, drained
  • 0.5 cup chopped sun-dried tomatoes
  • 0.33333334326744 cup pineapple tidbits, drained
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil, or to taste
Instructions:
  • To make the sauce, warm 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook the onion for 2 minutes, then add the garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Mix in the tomato paste, crushed tomatoes, oregano, salt, and pepper. Let the pizza sauce simmer for approximately 20 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C while the sauce simmers).
  • Drizzle the pizza crust with the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil, then generously spread a layer of hot pizza sauce. Sprinkle with 1/4 cup of Parmesan cheese and 1/4 cup of Italian cheese blend. Evenly distribute clams, sun-dried tomatoes, pineapple, and fresh basil on top. Finish by sprinkling the remaining cheeses over the whole pizza.
  • Bake until the cheese is gooey and melted, for about 10-12 minutes in the preheated oven.
