Indulge in a comforting British classic featuring creamy mashed potatoes, savory pork sausages, caramelized onions, and rich gravy - a must-try hearty meal!
Ingredients:
  • 2.25 pounds potatoes, peeled and quartered
  • 2 chicken bouillon cubes
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 0.25 cup melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil
  • 8 links pork sausage
  • 1 large onion, sliced and separated into rings
  • 2 (10.25 ounce) cans homestyle beef gravy
  • 2 teaspoons crumbled dried oregano
Instructions:
  • In a large pan, cover the potatoes with water. Boil until tender, around 20 minutes. Drain, keeping potatoes in the pan.
  • Add bouillon cubes to warm milk and mix until fully dissolved. Combine this mixture and melted butter with the potatoes. Mash the potatoes until creamy and smooth.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat oil. Prick sausages with a fork in a few places. Cook sausages in hot oil until golden brown, turning often, until juices run clear, for 12 to 15 minutes (depending on thickness). Remove cooked sausages and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
  • Add the onion rings to the skillet and cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until they are golden and crisp, approximately 5 minutes.
  • Heat up the gravy in a small pot over medium heat.
  • Spread the mashed potatoes elegantly on a large serving plate. Layer the sausages over the potatoes, place the onion rings on top, pour warm gravy generously, and finish by sprinkling with oregano for a burst of flavor.
