Authentic Cuban Sandwich recipe passed down from uncle in Cuba, best served with plantain chips and mamey milkshake.
Ingredients:
  • 4 sweet bread rolls
  • 0.5 cup mayonnaise
  • 0.25 cup prepared mustard
  • 1 pound thinly sliced cooked ham
  • 1 pound thinly sliced fully cooked pork
  • 1 pound sliced Swiss cheese
  • 1 cup dill pickle slices
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
Instructions:
  • Split the sandwich rolls and generously spread mustard and mayonnaise on the cut sides.
  • Layer equal amounts of Swiss cheese, ham, and pork on each sandwich, followed by a few pickles. Close the sandwich with the top of the roll and brush with melted butter.
  • Heat up your sandwich press or a large skillet over medium-high heat. Press the sandwiches down with a sturdy plate or skillet. Cook for 5 to 8 minutes, keeping the sandwiches pressed. If using a skillet, consider flipping them once for even browning.
  • Serve the dish hot, after slicing it diagonally.
