Ingredients:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.66666668653488 cup lard
  • 5 tablespoons ice water, or as needed
Instructions:
  • In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Use a knife or pastry blender to cut in lard until mixture forms coarse crumbs.
  • Add water gradually, 1 tablespoon at a time, stirring gently with a fork or pastry blender until the dough is moistened and nearly pulls away from the bowl's sides.
  • Divide the dough in half, shape into flattened rounds, wrap in plastic, and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
