Ingredients:
  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound bulk Italian sausage
  • 1 (16 ounce) can sliced mushrooms, drained
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 0.5 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 0.25 teaspoon dried basil
  • 4 (15 ounce) cans tomato sauce
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 (15 ounce) container ricotta cheese
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 0.33333334326744 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 pound shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) for the perfect start to your dish.
  • 1. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil, then cook the lasagna noodles with olive oil until al dente, approximately 8 to 10 minutes. Drain the noodles.
  • In a large pot over medium heat, brown the ground beef and sausage until cooked through; then drain any excess fat. Add mushrooms, garlic salt, oregano, thyme, basil, and tomato sauce. Season with salt and pepper, and simmer for 30 minutes.
  • Combine the ricotta cheese, eggs, and Parmesan cheese in a bowl.
  • Spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Place 3 lasagna noodles on top of the sauce. Spread 1/4 of the ricotta cheese mixture over the noodles. Sprinkle 1/3 of the mozzarella cheese over the ricotta. Pour 1/3 of the meat sauce over the mozzarella. Repeat layering twice more and finish with the remaining 1/4 pound of mozzarella cheese on top.
  • Place in a preheated oven and bake for 90 minutes. Let it rest for 10 to 15 minutes before serving.
