Delicious twist on classic lasagna: Roll sauce, ricotta, and mozzarella into noodles for a fun Italian meal.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 0.25 white onion, chopped
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 (26 ounce) jar chunky tomato sauce (such as Ragu®)
  • 3 tablespoons white sugar
  • 18 lasagna noodles
  • cooking spray
  • 1 (15 ounce) container ricotta cheese
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese, divided
  • 1 (12 ounce) package shredded mozzarella cheese, or as needed
Instructions:
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, sauté ground beef, onion, garlic powder, and oregano until the onion is soft and beef is browned, approximately 10 minutes.
  • Simmer the tomato sauce and sugar together until heated through, approximately 10 minutes.
  • 1. Boil a large pot of lightly salted water. Add lasagna and cook until al dente, about 8 to 10 minutes. Drain well.
  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) and prepare a 9x13-inch casserole dish by greasing it.
  • Combine velvety ricotta cheese, a farm-fresh egg, fragrant parsley, and a generous 3/4 cup of Parmesan cheese in a mixing bowl.
  • Lay a lasagna noodle on a flat surface. Add a layer of ricotta cheese mixture, then meat sauce, and top it with mozzarella cheese. Place another lasagna noodle on top. Roll up the noodles like a jelly roll and put them in a baking dish. Repeat the process with the remaining lasagna noodles, ricotta mixture, meat sauce, and mozzarella cheese.
  • Spoon a generous portion of meat sauce over each lasagna roll; sprinkle with the rest of the mozzarella cheese and 1/4 cup of Parmesan cheese.
  • Bake until the cheese is melted and bubbling in the preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes.
