Simplify and enhance the classic margarita by using fresh lime juice, tequila, and triple sec with a salt rim. Try Cointreau as a sub for triple sec and adjust sweetness with sugar to taste. Explore variations like frozen, fruity, or spicy margaritas for a twist on the original. Serve on the rocks or straight up for a refreshing cocktail experience.
Ingredients:
  • Ice, to serve
  • Sea salt flakes, to garnish
  • 1 lime wedge, plus 45ml fresh lime juice
  • 45ml tequila
  • 30ml triple sec liqueur
  • Lime slices, to garnish
Instructions:
  • On a small plate, sprinkle salt. Take the lime wedge and run it along the rim of a serving glass. Dip the rim of the glass into the salt and set it aside.
  • Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, pour in the tequila, triple sec, and lime juice, then shake vigorously. Fill a serving glass with ice, strain the mixture into the glass, and garnish with lime slices before serving.
