Indulge in a festive feast with a classic roast turkey and all the fixings!
Ingredients:
  • 75g butter
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 400g good-quality pork sausages
  • 125.00 ml chopped parsley
  • 2 tsp chopped thyme
  • Grated rind of 2 lemons
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 100g fresh white breadcrumbs
  • 5.00 gm Seasoning for Roast Meat, extra to sprinkle (see note)
  • 4.5kg oven-ready turkey
  • 28.60 gm honey
Instructions:
  • In a large frypan, melt 25g of butter over medium-low heat. Cook the onion for 5 minutes until it's soft and translucent.
  • Remove the casings from the sausages, then finely chop the meat and place it in a bowl. Mix in the onion, herbs, half of the lemon zest, egg, breadcrumbs, and seasoning. Let it cool down.
  • Preheat your oven to 170°C.
  • After washing the turkey cavity and patting it dry, stuff it. Transfer the turkey to a roasting pan. Gently massage the breast with some softened butter and loosely cover with foil. Roast in the oven for 1 hour.
  • In a saucepan over low heat, melt the remaining butter with honey and lemon rind.
  • Remove the foil and generously spread the butter mixture all over the turkey. Then, sprinkle the turkey with an extra layer of Vegeta Twist Seasoning.
  • Add 1/2 cup (125ml) water to the roasting pan and continue roasting for 1 1/2 hours (cover turkey with foil if needed) until juices run clear when a skewer is inserted into the thigh. Let the turkey rest for 15 minutes before carving.
  • Enjoy with classic Thanksgiving sides like roasted vegetables and rich gravy.
