Elevate classic meatballs with a sweet and spicy sauce for a flavor-packed appetizer.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 0.5 cup dried bread crumbs
  • 0.33333334326744 cup chopped onion
  • 0.25 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.125 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 0.25 cup shortening
  • 12 fluid ounces tomato-based chili sauce
  • 1.25 cups grape jelly
Instructions:
  • Combine ground beef, bread crumbs, onion, milk, egg, salt, Worcestershire sauce, and black pepper in a large bowl. Mix well and form into meatballs.
  • Heat shortening in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook meatballs until browned, about 5 to 7 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  • Combine chili sauce and jelly in a skillet; stir and heat until jelly is melted. Add meatballs back to skillet and stir until coated. Simmer on low heat, uncovered, for 30 minutes.
