Indulge in easy baked coconut chocolate bars with a decadent caramel drizzle.
Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 cups butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened baking cocoa
  • 2 cups flaked coconut
  • 1/2 cup caramel topping
  • 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 teaspoon vegetable oil
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F and generously coat a 13x9-inch pan with cooking spray.
  • In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to blend butter, sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Add flour and cocoa on low speed until a soft dough forms, then mix in 1 cup of coconut. Press mixture into the pan.
  • Bake for around 25 minutes, or until the center is firm. Once baked, generously drizzle caramel over the top and sprinkle with the remaining cup of coconut.
  • Combine chocolate chips and oil in a resealable freezer plastic bag, seal, and microwave on High for 30 to 45 seconds. Remember to squeeze the bag every 15 seconds until the chocolate is smooth. Next, snip a 1/4-inch tip from the corner of the bag and drizzle the chocolate over the coconut. To make bars, cut into 8 rows by 4 rows.
