Decadent coffee ice cream with chunks of doughnuts.
Ingredients:
  • 4 marble crullers (fried twisted stick doughnuts)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons instant coffee granules
  • 2 eggs
  • 0.75 cup white sugar
  • 2 cups heavy cream
Instructions:
  • Break up or dice the crullers into small pieces, ensuring a mix of sizes without turning them into crumbs. Set aside the doughnut pieces.
  • Warm the milk in a saucepan over low heat until hot but not boiling. Stir in the instant coffee granules until completely dissolved. Remove from the heat and let it cool.
  • In a mixing bowl, beat eggs with an electric mixer for 3 minutes until light, adding sugar gradually. Beat for an additional minute. Mix in milk and heavy cream on low speed until smooth and creamy.
  • Transfer the mixture into an ice cream maker, and freeze as per the manufacturer's guidelines. Once the ice cream is semi-firm, gently fold in the doughnut pieces. Scoop the ice cream into a sealed container, and freeze for 6 to 8 hours to enhance the flavor and texture. Rest the ice cream at room temperature for 10 minutes before serving.
