Ingredients:
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.25 teaspoon sea salt
  • 0.5 cup butter, softened
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 (18.25 ounce) box yellow cake mix
  • 1.3333333730698 cups water
  • 0.33333334326744 cup canola oil
  • 3 eggs
Instructions:
  • Combine flour, baking soda, and sea salt in a large bowl. In a separate bowl, cream together butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Mix in 1 egg and vanilla extract until smooth. Gently fold in the flour mixture until just combined. Carefully stir in chocolate chips until evenly distributed. Shape the dough into tablespoon-sized balls and place on a baking sheet. Freeze until firm for about 2 hours.
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and prepare 24 muffin cups with paper liners.
  • In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to lightly beat 3 eggs. Add cake mix, water, and canola oil, and beat on medium speed for 2 minutes. Spoon the batter into cupcake liners, filling each 2/3 full. Top each cupcake with a frozen cookie dough ball in the center.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the cupcake part comes out clean, around 20 minutes. Let cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
