- 0.75 cup packed brown sugar
- 0.5 cup white sugar
- 0.25 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 0.5 cup chopped pecans
- 1 cup jumbo chocolate chips
- 1.75 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- Combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt, then set aside.
- Create beautiful layers in the 1 quart wide mouth canning jar, ensuring each ingredient is packed tightly before adding the flour mixture - it will be snug. Remember to wipe down the inside of the jar after adding the cocoa powder.
- Combine cookie mix with softened butter, beaten egg, and vanilla until mixture is sticky. Use your hands to finish mixing dough. Form walnut-sized balls and place them on parchment-lined baking sheets. Bake at 350 degrees F for 11-13 minutes. Cool for 5 minutes on the sheet, then transfer to racks to cool completely. Enjoy 3 dozen delicious cookies!
