Crispy fried shrimp in a creamy, sweet, and spicy bang bang sauce with the perfect kick!
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup mayonnaise
  • 0.25 cup Thai-style sweet chili sauce
  • 3 dashes Sriracha hot chile sauce, or to taste
  • 0.5 cup cornstarch, or as needed
  • 1 pound medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • oil for frying
  • 8 lettuce leaves
  • 1 bunch green onion, chopped, or to taste
Instructions:
  • Combine mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, and Sriracha hot sauce in a bowl, whisk until smooth. Let it sit for later.
  • In a shallow bowl, delicately coat the shrimps with cornstarch, shaking off any extra.
  • Preheat oil in a deep-fryer or large saucepan to 375°F (190°C).
  • Sauté the shrimp in batches until they turn light golden on the outside and are no longer translucent in the middle, for approximately 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Place the shrimp on a paper towel to allow them to drain excess moisture.
  • Transfer the cooked shrimp to a bowl and drizzle the chile sauce mixture over them. Gently toss the shrimp to ensure they are thoroughly coated in the sauce.
  • Arrange a bed of fresh lettuce leaves in a serving bowl. Gently layer the succulent shrimp on top and sprinkle with finely chopped green onions for added flavor.
