Savory beef stew with potatoes, sweet corn, and beans in a rich tomato sauce.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 (16 ounce) package frozen corn
  • 1 (15 ounce) can tomatoes
  • 1 (15 ounce) can ranch-style beans
  • 6 potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 0.25 cup chopped celery
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon white sugar
  • 1 dash garlic powder
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
Instructions:
  • In a large pot over medium heat, heat oil. Add ground beef and cook until completely browned, about 5 to 7 minutes. Stir in water, corn, tomatoes, ranch-style beans, potatoes, onion, green bell pepper, celery, chili powder, sugar, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Cover, bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low and simmer until potatoes are tender, approximately 1 hour.
