Delicious and decadent 5-ingredient homemade candies, perfect for gifting.
Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup whipping cream
  • 1 bag (10 oz) creme de menthe baking chips
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips (6 oz)
  • 10 oz vanilla-flavored candy coating (almond bark)
  • 2 drops green food color
  • Mini foil candy cups (1 1/2 inch), if desired
Instructions:
  • In a 2-quart saucepan, gently warm whipping cream over low heat for 2 to 3 minutes until it's warm. Take the saucepan off the heat, then add in baking chips and chocolate chips. Stir until everything is melted and smooth. Cover the mixture and refrigerate for 1 hour until it becomes firm.
  • Prepare the cookie sheets with waxed paper. Form the mixture into 1-inch balls, using powdered sugar or cocoa to prevent sticking; place them 2 inches apart on the cookie sheets. Chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  • In a small saucepan, gently melt the candy coating over low heat, stirring regularly until it becomes smooth. Once melted, take off the heat and let it cool for 10 minutes. In a small resealable plastic bag, combine 1/4 cup of the melted coating with green food coloring, seal the bag, and knead until the color is evenly distributed. Set aside for later use.
  • Dip one truffle at a time into white candy coating using a fork. Place them back on waxed paper-lined cookie sheets. Cut a small hole in the bag with green coating and drizzle over each truffle. If needed, reheat the green coating in the microwave for a few seconds to make it easier to drizzle. Allow the truffles to set for about 10 minutes before transferring to foil candy cups. Chill in the refrigerator for storage.
