Savor the festive Cranberry Apple Sangria with orange liqueur, spices, and vanilla. Enjoy as a cozy mulled wine option.
Ingredients:
  • 2 apples such as Fuji or Gala, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
  • 1 cup cranberry juice (100% juice is preferred, or cranberry juice cocktail)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 vanilla bean, split lengthwise
  • 12 whole cloves
  • 1 bottle dry red wine
  • 1/4 cup Triple Sec (or other orange liqueur like Cointreau or Grand Marnier)
  • 1 orange
Instructions:
  • Infuse flavors in a cozy pot: Secure cloves in cheesecloth with twine. Combine apples, cranberry juice, cinnamon, vanilla bean, and clove sachet in a saucepan. Simmer on low, stirring for 7 minutes until apples soften. Cool before using.
  • Mix the red wine, Triple Sec, and sliced orange quarters in a pitcher.
  • Prepare the sangria: Combine the apple-cranberry-spice mixture in a pitcher and gently mix. Refrigerate covered for 4 hours, ideally overnight, or up to 2-3 days before serving.
