Elevate steak leftovers with creamy mushroom stroganoff on bowtie pasta for a cozy weeknight meal.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (8 ounce) package farfalle (bow-tie) pasta
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon butter
  • 1 (6 ounce) package sliced white mushrooms
  • 0.25 cup French-fried onions
  • 0.5 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, cubed
  • 0.33333334326744 cup white wine
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 beef bouillon cube
  • 0.5 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 0.5 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 0.75 pound cooked steak, thinly sliced
  • 0.25 cup milk, or as needed
  • freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions:
  • 1. Boil a large pot of lightly salted water. Add bow-tie pasta and cook for about 12 minutes until al dente. Drain and transfer to a serving bowl.
  • In a large frying pan, combine olive oil and butter. Saute mushrooms, onions, and garlic until mushrooms are tender, about 5-10 minutes.
  • Combine cream cheese, white wine, tomato paste, lemon juice, cornstarch, beef bouillon, parsley, seasoned salt, and paprika in a bowl, then add steak. Transfer mixture to a frying pan with mushrooms; heat and gently stir over low heat until sauce is warm and smooth, about 5-10 minutes. Adjust consistency with milk as needed.
  • Toss the pasta with the sauce until coated, then sprinkle with black pepper to season.
