Green beans in creamy Parmesan sauce with a touch of nutmeg.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed and snapped
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 0.25 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • ground nutmeg
  • salt, to taste
  • ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions:
  • 1. Bring a pot of lightly salted water to a boil, add green beans, and cook until bright green and barely tender, about 6 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet over medium-low heat, melt butter. Whisk in cream, 2 tablespoons of Parmesan cheese, and nutmeg. Simmer the mixture. Gently coat beans in the mixture; season with salt and pepper. Simmer briefly, then transfer to a serving dish. Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons of Parmesan cheese before serving.
