Upgrade your pork chop dinner with a creamy Parmesan cheese sauce for a decadent twist on a classic favorite. Perfect for busy weeknights!
Ingredients:
  • 4 boneless pork chops (1 1/2 lb), trimmed of fat
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup thinly sliced sweet onions
  • 1/4 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups Progresso™ chicken broth (from 32-oz carton)
  • 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese (2 oz)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh Italian (flat-leaf) parsley
  • 1 pouch (4.7 oz) Betty Crocker™ roasted garlic mashed potatoes, prepared as directed on pouch
Instructions:
  • Season pork chops generously with salt and pepper. In a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter until sizzling. Add pork chops and sear for 2 to 4 minutes until the first side is golden brown. Flip the pork chops, reduce heat to medium, and cook for 1 to 2 minutes until the second side is browned. Transfer the pork chops to a plate and cover with foil to keep warm. The butter should be deeply golden in color.
  • Melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter in a skillet with the onions until they soften and start to brown. Add the flour and cook for 30 to 60 seconds until the mixture thickens and browns. Pour in the broth and whipping cream, bring to a simmer. Add the pork back to the skillet, cover, and cook on low heat for 4 to 6 minutes until the pork is no longer pink in the center (at least 145°F).
  • After cooking the pork, plate it. Mix Parmesan cheese into the sauce in the skillet. Spoon the sauce over the pork, garnish with parsley, and serve with potatoes.
