Indulgent mushroom sauce with Parmesan, white wine, garlic, thyme, and cream pairs beautifully with pasta or pork.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 0.5 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 (10 ounce) package sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1 pinch salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 0.25 cup white wine
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 0.5 cup chicken broth
  • 0.5 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 teaspoons chopped fresh thyme
Instructions:
  • In a skillet, melt butter with oil over medium heat. Add mushrooms and cook until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes. Stir in garlic, salt, and pepper; cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Pour in white wine, simmer until mostly evaporated, and scrape off any browned bits with a wooden spoon, about 1 minute.
  • Combine cream, chicken broth, and cheese until the sauce thickens and the cheese melts over medium-low heat, about 2 to 3 minutes. Stir in thyme and season with salt and pepper to taste.
