Elevate baked chicken wings with roasted garlic and lemon zest in Alfredo sauce for a sensational twist.
Ingredients:
  • 1 bulb garlic
  • 2 teaspoons olive or vegetable oil
  • 1 container (10 oz) fresh Alfredo sauce
  • 1 teaspoon freshly grated lemon peel
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher (coarse) salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly cracked pepper
  • 3 lb chicken wingettes and drummettes
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 425°F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with heavy-duty foil and grease with cooking spray.
  • Prepare the garlic by peeling away the paper-like skin, leaving enough to keep the cloves together. Cut off the top of the bulb to expose the cloves. Drizzle 2 teaspoons of oil over the bulb, wrap it tightly in foil, and place it in a pie plate or shallow baking pan.
  • Combine 1 tablespoon of oil, salt, pepper, and chicken in a 1-gallon resealable plastic bag. Seal the bag and shake to coat the chicken evenly.
  • 1. Place foil-wrapped garlic in a pie plate on the lower rack of the oven. Place chicken on a cookie sheet and bake uncovered for 30 minutes. 2. Turn the chicken over and continue to bake. 3. Bake the garlic for an additional 15 minutes until tender. Let cool slightly. 4. Bake the chicken for an additional 5 to 15 minutes until golden brown and the juices run clear when the thickest part is cut (at least 165°F).
  • Squeeze soft garlic out of cloves and use half in a saucepan. Add Alfredo sauce and lemon peel, heat gently for 5 minutes, stirring often. Remove from heat and set aside. Mix chicken with half of the sauce and serve warm with the rest for dipping.
