Use pantry staples to make a quick and sophisticated dessert.
Ingredients:
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 6 fresh pears
  • 1 package (10 ounces) frozen raspberries in syrup, thawed
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Combine sugar, water, and lemon juice in an ungreased 2-quart casserole dish until the sugar is fully dissolved.
  • Peel the pears, leaving the core and stems intact. Trim a slice from the bottom of each pear to create a stable base. Place the pears in a casserole dish and gently coat them with the sugar mixture.
  • Bake the pears until tender, then carefully take them out of the casserole. Discard the sugar mixture. Place the pears back in the casserole and drizzle with mashed raspberries. Make sure the pears are well coated with the raspberry syrup. Let them cool for 30 minutes.
  • Chill for roughly 12 hours, rotating the pears periodically to ensure they are fully coated with the delightful raspberry syrup. When ready to serve, stand the pears upright in dessert dishes and generously drizzle each pear with the delicious raspberry syrup.
