Upgrade your French toast with Kikkoman Panko Bread Crumbs for an extra crispy finish.
Ingredients:
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1.25 cups milk
  • 0.75 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 cup Kikkoman Panko Bread Crumbs
  • 8 slices dry white bread
  • 0.25 cup butter
  • 0.25 cup vegetable oil
  • Butter
  • Maple syrup
Instructions:
  • Combine eggs, milk, sugar, and vanilla extract in a shallow bowl, mixing until smooth. Spread panko in a pie pan or a shallow dish. Dip each bread slice into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are coated, then coat both sides with breadcrumbs. Transfer bread slices to a large wire rack.
  • In a 17-1/4 x 11-1/2-inch jellyroll pan, combine butter and oil. Place the pan in a preheated 400 degrees F oven for 1 to 2 minutes until the butter melts. Remove from oven.
  • Lay bread slices in pan, ensuring they are in a single layer. Flip once to evenly coat both sides with the butter mixture.
  • Place the bread slices back in the oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes. Flip the slices over and continue baking for another 10 minutes, or until they are a beautiful golden brown color.
  • Drizzle with rich maple syrup and top with a dab of creamy butter.
