Easy and delicious recipe for crispy fried crab rangoon: fill, fold, seal, and fry to golden perfection!
Ingredients:
  • 2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 1 pound crabmeat, shredded
  • 3 tablespoons dark soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon minced fresh ginger root
  • 0.5 teaspoon chopped fresh cilantro
  • 0.5 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 0.5 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 (14 ounce) package small won ton wrappers
  • 1 quart oil for frying
Instructions:
  • Combine creamy cream cheese with savory crabmeat, a splash of soy sauce, aromatic ginger, fresh cilantro and parsley, and zesty garlic in a bowl.
  • In a large heavy skillet or deep fryer, bring oil to a shimmering 360 degrees F (180 degrees C).
  • As the oil heats up, spoon 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of cream cheese mixture onto the middle of a wonton wrapper. Moisten the edges, fold two corners together to form a triangle, then bring the remaining corners up and seal tightly. Repeat process for the remaining wontons and keep them covered under a damp paper towel until the oil is ready.
  • Fry a few wontons at once in hot oil until golden brown and crispy, about 1 to 2 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
