Press out water from tofu, coat for ultimate crunch in quick, easy recipe.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (12 ounce) package extra-firm tofu
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, or as needed
Instructions:
  • Place drained tofu on a plate and press with heavy plates for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture. Slice into 24 bite-sized pieces.
  • In a large resealable plastic bag, mix flour, cornstarch, salt, and pepper. Add tofu to the bag, seal it, and shake well to coat evenly. Transfer the coated tofu to a plate, allowing any extra flour mixture to fall off.
  • Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until it shimmers. Cook tofu, turning regularly, until golden brown on all sides, about 5 minutes per side.
