Transform Christmas ham leftovers into a deliciously cheesy, simple bake.
Ingredients:
  • 550g loaf white sourdough bread,
cut into 4cm pieces
  • 350g leftover ham, coarsely chopped
(from glazed ham, see related recipe)
  • 100g (1 cup) coarsely grated gruyère
  • 40g (1/2 cup) finely grated parmesan
  • 10 eggs
  • 375ml (1 1/2 cups) milk
  • 125ml (1/2 cup) thickened cream
  • 35.10 gm Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 bunch fresh chives, finely chopped
  • Baby herbs, to serve
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 180C/160C fan forced. Generously grease a 19 x 29cm ovenproof dish with butter. Layer half of the bread, three-quarters of the ham, and half of the cheeses. Repeat with the remaining bread, ham, and cheese.
  • Combine eggs, milk, cream, mustard, and chives in a large jug and season with salt and pepper. Pour the mixture evenly over the dish and let it sit for 30 minutes. Sprinkle with remaining cheese and bake for 1 hour until golden and set (cover with foil if necessary). Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving garnished with baby herbs.
