Upgrade French toast with zesty orange juice and crunchy whole-grain cereal for a simple and delicious twist.
Ingredients:
  • 2 1/2 cups Whole Grain Total® or Total® Honey Clusters® cereal
  • 2 eggs or 1/2 cup fat-free egg product
  • 3/4 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 10 slices (1 inch thick) whole-grain or regular French bread
Instructions:
  • Crush the cereal in a resealable plastic bag using a rolling pin or meat mallet. Transfer the crushed cereal to a shallow bowl and set aside. In a separate medium bowl, whisk together eggs, orange juice, and salt until well blended.
  • Prepare a 12-inch skillet with cooking spray and heat it to 350°F over medium heat. Dip each bread slice into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are coated, then cover with cereal. Cook on the skillet for 4 to 6 minutes, flipping once, until both sides are golden brown.
