Elevate your Sunday morning with crunchy cornflake baked French toast.
Ingredients:
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup half-and-half
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups corn flakes cereal, crushed to 1 cup
  • 8 (3/4-inch-thick) diagonally cut slices French bread
  • Strawberry syrup
  • Fresh strawberries, raspberries and/or blueberries
Instructions:
  • Prepare the baking pan by greasing it generously. In a shallow bowl, mix together eggs, half-and-half, sugar, vanilla, and salt until well combined. Place crushed cereal in a separate shallow bowl. Dip each bread slice in the egg mixture, ensuring it's fully coated. Then coat each slice with the cereal crumbs. Arrange the coated slices in the greased pan, cover it, and freeze for 1 to 2 hours until firm.
  • Preheat oven to 425°F. Toast bread slices for 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown, flipping halfway through. Serve with syrup and strawberries, and top with whipped topping for extra enjoyment.
