Slow-simmered brown basmati rice spiced with onion, garlic, and aromatic curry flavors - a perfect side dish for any meal.
Ingredients:
  • 1 tablespoon grapeseed oil
  • 0.5 cup chopped yellow onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup brown basmati rice
  • 1 teaspoon curry powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 2 cups vegetable broth
  • 0.5 teaspoon kosher salt
Instructions:
  • In a skillet over medium heat, sizzle grapeseed oil, then sauté onion and garlic until tender for about 5 minutes. Stir in rice, curry powder, garam masala, and cumin seeds. Toast the rice for an additional 1 to 2 minutes, stirring continuously.
  • Add the flavorful broth to the rice mixture, season with a pinch of salt, and bring to a boil. Simmer on low, covered, until the rice is perfectly tender and has soaked up all the liquid, around 45 to 50 minutes.
