Indulge in a decadent chocolate-covered strawberry cake using Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ white cake mix, strawberry gelatin, and rich dark chocolate frosting.
Ingredients:
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ White Cake Mix
  • 1 box (4-serving size) Jell-O™ strawberry-flavored gelatin
  • 1 package (15 oz) frozen strawberries with sugar, thawed, pureed
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 containers Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy dark chocolate frosting
  • Fresh strawberries for garnish
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F and generously grease 2 (9-inch) round cake pans with shortening or cooking spray.
  • Combine cake mix and gelatin mix in a large bowl, whisk together. Use an electric mixer on medium speed to blend in pureed strawberries, then add eggs one at a time. Pour in oil and water, beat for about 2 minutes until smooth. Divide the batter evenly between cake pans.
  • Bake for around 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Let the cakes cool in pans for 20 minutes, then carefully invert them onto cooling racks. Allow to cool completely for about 45 minutes.
  • Chill the cooled cakes in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, or ideally overnight, to simplify the cake icing process.
  • Place the first cake layer, right side up, on a serving plate. Spread frosting on top of the cake. Then, place the second cake layer, upside down, on top of the frosted cake. Proceed to spread frosting over the top and sides until the whole cake is covered. Feel free to garnish the cake with fresh strawberries to give it a beautiful finish. Remember, you might not need all of the second container of frosting.
