Classic American pizza with crispy crust and savory toppings - a must-have recipe!
Ingredients:
  • 1 x 7 g sachet of dried yeast
  • 1 tablespoon golden caster sugar
  • 1 kg strong white bread flour plus extra for dusting
  • a swig of white wine vinegar
  • 1 clove of garlic peeled
  • a handful of fresh basil leaves
  • 1 x 400 g tin of chopped tomatoes
  • 3 red onions peeled and finely sliced
  • a few sprigs of fresh thyme leaves picked
  • 4 higher-welfare pork sausages
  • 1 dried red chilli
  • 1 teaspoon fennel seeds
  • a good pinch of dried oregano
  • 100 g fresh buffalo mozzarella
  • 2 fresh red chillies finely sliced
  • 2 large handfuls of freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 12 slices of higher-welfare pancetta
Instructions:
  • To prepare the dough, combine 650ml lukewarm water, yeast, sugar, and 1 teaspoon of salt in a large bowl. Gradually mix in the flour until a smooth, springy dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface until you're satisfied with the consistency. Transfer the dough to a floured bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm room until almost doubled in size.
