Deliciously simple chicken francese with crispy chicken cooked in a tangy lemon, herb, and wine sauce.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 pound skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, or as needed
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 0.5 cup white wine
  • 0.25 cup butter
  • 2 medium lemons, juiced
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 teaspoons water
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
Instructions:
  • Assemble all the necessary ingredients.
  • Coat chicken in flour, making sure to shake off any excess. Dip into beaten egg, allowing excess to drip back into the bowl. Press into flour once more to coat both sides. Repeat with the rest of the chicken.
  • In a nonstick skillet over medium heat, sauté the chicken in oil until nearly cooked through, around 4 minutes per side. Remove to a paper towel-lined plate.
  • Heat your oven to a cozy 300 degrees F (150 degrees C) and generously grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Combine chicken broth, wine, butter, lemon juice, parsley, salt, and pepper in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Stir occasionally until butter melts. In a small bowl, mix water and cornstarch, then add to broth mixture. Cook until slightly thickened, 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Arrange the chicken in the baking dish and generously drizzle with the delicious sauce.
  • Cook the chicken in the preheated oven until fully cooked and the juices run clear, around 10 to 15 minutes, or until an instant-read thermometer reads at least 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).
