Simple yet flavorful recipe that enhances any meal. Perfect with garlic-infused olive oil.
Ingredients:
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 (.25 ounce) package active dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 3 cups bread flour
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions:
  • In a medium bowl, combine sugar with warm water until dissolved. Add yeast and wait until bubbly. Stir in salt, butter, 1 tablespoon rosemary, and Italian seasoning. Mix in 2 cups of flour. Slowly incorporate the remaining flour until a dough forms, then knead for 10 to 12 minutes.
  • Drizzle olive oil in a large bowl, ensuring it's completely coated. Place the dough inside, cover it, and let it rise for 1 hour in a cozy spot.
  • After punching down the dough, divide it in half. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly grease it. Shape the dough into 2 round loaves and place them on the baking sheet. Sprinkle with the remaining rosemary. Cover the loaves and let them rise for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  • Heat your oven to a toasty 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • Gently coat loaves with beaten egg. Bake until golden brown, about 15-20 minutes in the preheated oven.
