Beer bread with apple, Cheddar, and rosemary - a delicious side for soup or chili.
Ingredients:
  • cooking spray
  • 3 cups self-rising flour
  • 2 teaspoons chopped fresh rosemary
  • 1 (12 fluid ounce) can or bottle beer
  • 1 medium apple, diced
  • 0.5 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and generously coat a 9x5-inch loaf pan with cooking spray.
  • Combine flour, sugar, and fragrant rosemary in a large mixing bowl. Mix in beer, then add apple and tangy Cheddar cheese, stirring until well combined. The batter will be thick and sticky. Transfer the mixture to the loaf pan.
  • Once the top is golden brown, after 55 to 60 minutes, remove the dish from the oven. Drizzle melted butter on top and put it back in the oven for an additional 3 to 5 minutes.
