Indulge in rich and decadent chocolate lasagna for a delightful twist on a classic favorite.
Ingredients:
  • 600ml tub thickened cream
  • 500g fresh ricotta
  • 60g (1/3 cup) pure icing sugar, sifted
  • 2 tsp vanilla bean paste
  • 20.00 ml marsala
  • 40.00 ml chocolate hazelnut spread
  • 12 (about 200g) Milk Chocolate Digestive Biscuits
  • 12 (about 200g) Dark Chocolate Digestive Biscuits
  • 250g milk chocolate
Instructions:
  • In a large bowl, gently pour in half of the cream, then whip with electric beaters until soft peaks form.
  • In a large bowl, combine the ricotta, icing sugar, and vanilla bean paste using electric beaters until smooth. Transfer half of the ricotta mixture to a separate small bowl. Stir marsala into the large bowl of ricotta until well combined. Mix the chocolate hazelnut spread into the small bowl of ricotta until fully incorporated.
  • Gently combine half of the whipped cream with the plain ricotta and the other half with the chocolate ricotta. Clean the beaters, then whip the remaining 160ml (2/3 cup) cream until soft peaks form.
  • Line the base of a square 20cm (base measurement) 1.5L (6 cup) capacity dish with 9 dark chocolate biscuits, chocolate-side down, trimming to fit and fill gaps. Evenly spread plain ricotta mixture over the biscuits. Layer with 9 milk chocolate biscuits, chocolate-side down. Smooth the chocolate ricotta mixture over them. Finish with an even layer of whipped cream. Chill in the fridge for 2 hours or overnight before serving.
  • First, chop 50g of milk chocolate into coarse shards. Then, chop the rest of the chocolate and combine it with the remaining cream in a microwave-proof bowl. Microwave the mixture on HIGH for 30 seconds, stirring well until smooth and fully combined.
  • Crush half of the leftover milk and dark chocolate biscuits into chunks. Finely chop the rest. Drizzle chocolate sauce over the whipped cream and sprinkle with the biscuit pieces and chocolate shards. Serve with extra chocolate sauce on the side.
