Indulgent jumbo chocolate muffins loaded with juicy Bing cherries and mini chocolate chips.
Ingredients:
  • 2.3333332538605 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.25 cups white sugar
  • 0.33333334326744 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 0.33333334326744 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1.5 cups fresh dark sweet cherries, pitted and chopped
  • 1 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) and prepare a 12-cup jumbo muffin tin by greasing it or lining it with paper baking cups.
  • In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Create a well in the center and set aside.
  • In a separate bowl, blend sour cream, milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and almond extract until smooth. Pour the mixture into the well, then gently incorporate the flour mixture. Add cherries and chocolate chips, gently fold in. Fill muffin cups halfway with the batter.
  • Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, for 20-25 minutes. Cool in the pan on a wire rack for 5 minutes. Then, remove from pan and let cool completely on a wire rack. Store tightly covered at room temperature.
