Delicious fusion breakfast recipe: Doughnut pancakes with frosting, syrup, and sprinkles.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups Original Bisquick™ baking mix
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
Instructions:
  • Combine Bisquick mix, granulated sugar, baking powder, and baking soda in a medium bowl. In a separate small bowl, whisk together vegetable oil, vanilla, buttermilk, and eggs. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture and stir until just combined.
  • Prepare the skillet by greasing with oil and heating over medium heat. Spoon the pancake batter into the skillet in a doughnut shape.
  • Cook for about 3 minutes until the edges are dry and bubbles form on the surface. Flip and cook for an additional 2 to 3 minutes on the other side.
  • To prepare the syrup, melt butter in a 1-quart saucepan over medium heat. Stir in powdered sugar, salt, and milk until smooth and sugar dissolves. Mix in baking soda and cook for 1 minute until syrup becomes frothy, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
  • Top pancakes with syrup and, if desired, candy sprinkles.
