Dragon eggs: Colorful hard-boiled eggs filled with spicy red pepper mixture, perfect for Halloween parties.
Ingredients:
  • 6 eggs
  • 0.25 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons molasses
  • 8 tea bags
  • 0.33333334326744 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons minced red bell pepper
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup salsa
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan, cover eggs with water and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and let eggs sit in hot water for 15 minutes. Drain water and fill the saucepan with cold water; allow eggs to cool for 15-20 minutes. Gently tap or roll eggs on the counter to crack the shell while keeping it intact.
  • Add the eggs back to the saucepan and cover them with water. Stir in soy sauce, molasses, salt, and tea bags. Bring to a boil, then lower heat and simmer for approximately 30 minutes until the eggs take on color. Once done, remove the saucepan from the heat and allow the eggs to cool in the water until they reach room temperature.
  • Peel eggs and trim bottoms for stability. Cut lengthwise, scoop out yolks. Combine yolks with mayonnaise, red bell pepper, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  • Fill egg whites evenly with yolk mixture and gently press halves together.
  • Spread a generous layer of salsa on a plate and stand the eggs upright in the salsa.
