Indulgent bars with brown sugar pastry crust, chewy cocoa, walnut, and coconut topping.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 1.5 cups brown sugar
  • 0.25 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1.5 cups flaked coconut
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) for a perfect bake.
  • Combine smooth butter and 1/2 cup of brown sugar in a bowl. Mix in 1 1/2 cups of flour. Press the mixture firmly into a 9x13 inch pan. Bake the crust in a preheated oven for 15 minutes until golden brown.
  • Combine eggs and 1 1/2 cups brown sugar in a medium bowl. Add vanilla. Mix in 1/4 cup flour, cocoa (optional), baking powder, and salt. Fold in coconut and walnuts. Pour into pre-baked crust.
  • Bake in a preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes until set. Allow to cool, then slice into squares.
