In just 30 minutes, whip up quick and easy drop biscuits with six ingredients and no mixer required. Easily customize for sweet or savory variations.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups (260g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 8 tablespoons (113g) cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • 1 cup buttermilk, cold
Instructions:
  • Heat your oven to 425°F and cover a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Create the dough: In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Add butter and use your fingers to blend until pea-sized pieces form. Work swiftly to prevent butter from melting. Pour in buttermilk and mix gently with a rubber spatula or wooden spoon until just combined. The dough will be thick and sticky. Avoid over-mixing.
  • Scoop dough onto parchment-lined baking sheet: Use a 1/3 cup measure to scoop the dough into 8 equal mounds, spacing them apart. Bake for 20 to 22 minutes until lightly golden brown and they bounce back when gently pressed. Serve warm and show some love by leaving stars and a comment!
