Indonesian-inspired peach and chicken dish for peach and chicken fans.
Ingredients:
  • 2 teaspoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 10 chicken drumsticks
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon butter
  • 0.5 onion, sliced
  • 5 teaspoons honey
  • 2 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons water
  • 1 peach, peeled and sliced
Instructions:
  • In a large skillet over medium-low heat, melt 2 teaspoons of butter. Add garlic and cook until softened, about 1-2 minutes. Season chicken with salt and pepper, then cook in the skillet until browned on all sides, approximately 15 minutes.
  • Once the drumsticks are golden brown, transfer them to a plate. In the same skillet, melt the remaining 1 teaspoon of butter and sauté the sliced onion until soft, for about 5 minutes. Add in the honey, soy sauce, ginger, and 1 cup of water. Place the drumsticks back into the skillet and bring everything to a boil over high heat. Lower the heat to medium-low, arrange lemon slices on top, cover with a lid, and simmer until the drumsticks are tender and cooked through, for about 15 minutes.
  • After cooking the drumsticks, transfer them to a serving platter to keep warm. Mix 2 teaspoons of water with cornstarch and stir into the sauce. Add the peach and cook until the sauce thickens and simmers again. Drizzle the sauce over the drumsticks before serving.
