Elevate summer berries with a pear liqueur syrup, perfect on its own or over vanilla gelato. Let the flavors mingle by chilling for a few hours before indulging.
Ingredients:
  • 1.25 cups white sugar
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 0.25 cup pear liqueur
  • 1 pound fresh strawberries, hulled
  • 1 pint blueberries
  • 1 pint fresh blackberries
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan over medium-high heat, stir together sugar and water until sugar dissolves and mixture boils. Lower heat to simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let stand for an additional 5 minutes.
  • Combine pear liqueur with the syrup, then chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
  • Toss a mix of strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries in a bowl and drizzle with syrup to coat. Let the berries sit for 3 hours to soak up the flavors. Store in the fridge for up to 3 days for more developed tastes.
