Spicy beer-infused stir-fried shrimp with aromatic onions, garlic, and ginger. Perfect for any meal or occasion.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons canola oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 6 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons minced fresh ginger root
  • 2 pounds large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 tablespoon red pepper flakes, or to taste
  • 0.75 cup beer
  • 0.25 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
  • 3 green onions, chopped
Instructions:
  • In a large skillet over high heat, sizzle onion, garlic, and ginger in canola oil for just 15 seconds until fragrant. Add shrimp, salt, and black pepper, stirring until shrimp turns slightly pink, about 5 minutes. Pour in beer, ketchup, and sugar, then bring the sauce to a boil.
  • Combine the cornstarch with water and mix well before adding it to the bubbling sauce. Simmer until the sauce thickens, the shrimp turns pink, and the meat is cooked through, approximately 5 minutes. Finish by stirring in the sesame oil and garnishing with green onions before serving.
