Tender flat iron steak marinated in vermouth, seasoned with red pepper flakes, and pan-fried to perfection. Inspired by a Texan favorite.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (2 pound) flat iron steak
  • 0.25 cup dry vermouth
  • 0.25 cup sweet vermouth
  • 2.5 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon red pepper flakes
Instructions:
  • Marinate the steak by placing it in a large resealable bag or shallow dish. Pour in the dry vermouth and sweet vermouth, then stir to coat the steak. Refrigerate for 6 hours to enhance the flavors.
  • In a big skillet over medium heat, warm the oil. Take the steak out of the bag, dispose of the marinade, and season both sides with red pepper flakes. Cook each side for 3 to 4 minutes for medium-rare, or to your preferred doneness. Rest for a few minutes before serving.
